How to Choose between Suspending and Floating Jerkbaits
Updated: Feb 18, 2020
There is quit a few different options when it comes to jerk baits. sizes, weights, bill shapes etc. So if you are an angler that’s is just getting into the sport it can become a little overwhelming. Well I’m here to help. Suspending is good for the 10to 15 foot range. Floating is good for shallow water that could have submerged vegetation or shallow rock beds. There are a couple things to take into consideration when your fishing Suspending and Floating jerk baits. The number one thing to remember
is your line! a line that sinks to fast will pull your jerkbait down and a line that floats or sinks slowly will mess up the action of your bait. 12 pound fluorocarbon is my go to for jerk baits it’s the best all around for both Suspending and Floating jerkbait.
